After 30 years of watching Johnny Carson strut, tee off and laugh at his own jokes in the same venerable duds, NBC is sinking up to $1,200 per suit for Fred Hayman of Beverly Hills to outfit the new host. No word yet on whether that e pense will preempt paying cohost to introduce Leno. F that kind of money, maybe Hayman will do it for free.
