Iconic Auctions recently announced a lot that caught Logic’s attention. The lot featured a rare, mint condition first-edition shadowless holographic Charizard card. Not only is Charizard one of the most iconic Pokemon, but the first-edition card is one of the rarest in the world of the TCG. It is the first English-printed Charizard card, included in the original Pokemon set.

Logic was able to win the auction with a bid of $183,000. The price may seem insanely high for a Pokemon card, but only 2,200 shadowless holographic Charizard cards have ever been graded. One top of that, Logic was able to secure a card with a PSA Mint 1o rating, meaning it has zero faults and is in perfect condition.

After buyer’s premium, Logic paid $221,000 USD for the Pokemon card. Although the card would make a great investment, as the price and value are rising, Logic says he bought the card for personal reasons. In an emotional Instagram post, Logic shares that as a child he loved Pokemon cards, but could never afford them.

Logic has come a long way since being a kid unable to buy Pokemon cards, but still enjoys the same cultural icons he did growing up. After years of music success, Logic has maintained the same love of Pokemon, and is now the owner of one of the most rare TCG cards in the world.

After his last studio album in July, Logic announced his retirement from music. Since then, Logic has signed an exclusive deal with Twitch and uses the platform for gaming, interviews, and interacting with fans. Most recently, Logic has been streaming Among Us and Star Wars: Squadrons, but maybe he’ll also dip his toes more into the world of the Pokemon TCG.
