Rapids Add Two Homegrown Players In Ford Perez

Arena puts his stamp on USA camp

Ford has been a part of the Rapids’ academy since 2012 and joins the first team after helping Denver to the program’s first trip to the College Cup. 

Perez won Midfielder of the Year honors in the Big East as well as picking up an All-Big East first team selection in his final year at Creighton.

“We are thrilled to have Kortne and Richi officially join our first team. We have kept a close eye on both players after watching them develop through our academy system, as well as at the collegiate level,” Rapids coach Pablo Mastroeni said in a news release. “Kortne and Richi have shown a great deal of commitment and dedication to the Rapids family, and we look forward to continuing their progression on a daily basis here in Colorado.”
